3 Rules to business success that works every time

There isn’t a roadmap to success, but after years of helping Christians develop their God idea, I have found 3 simple rules that works pretty much every time. It goes like this …

#1 Make something people will pay for

Create a product or service that solves a problem, which people are willing to pay for to have solved. People have lots of problems, but you have to find out what they are willing to pay for.

#2 Show and tell effectively

Communicate clearly and often to a very targeted customer the benefits of purchasing your product or service. You must convince people of the value of what you are selling and communicate that value to them many times before they will buy it.

Also, don’t miss the point about “very targeted customer”. Because if you are trying to sell your product or service to everyone, then you will sell to no one.

#3 Get repeat business

After the sell, stay in contact with your customers, so you can sell them something else at a later time. Your best customer is a repeat customer.

I know you are thinking it can’t be that simple, but it really is. So why aren’t more people successful. Well, because …

  • they created something they wanted, instead of finding out what paying customers wanted
  • their target customer is to board, so they don’t know who to advertise to or how to communicate effectively to them
  • they don’t have the patience to build a relationship with their customers before they ask them to buy what they are selling

If this sounds like something you did (or are doing), well, you aren’t alone. I have done it too 🙂 To get things back on track do these three things …

  • go ask people what they want before you make it
  • focus your business on a very specific group of people
  • build a relationship with your specific group of customers before asking them to buy anything
