Don’t Try – Either Do or Don’t Do

If you ever watched the first Start Wars’ movie when Luke Skywalker had to raise a starship out of a lake with just his mind. Luke said he would “try” to do it, but Yoda said, either you do or you don’t do.

So likewise when God gives you a vision for business or ministry, don’t try. Either you do it or don’t do it. The word “try” puts you in a limbo state where you are not really fully committed to what you are doing.

You are partially in and partially out. You are just trying to see what will happen. And usually, what happens is that you fail. Success comes through being fully committed to the vision God has placed in your heart.

Faith is not trying

Being fully committed is the definition of Faith. You are committed to the end to see the fullness of God’s vision for your life come to pass.

However, success probably won’t happen fast, but it won’t happen at all if you are just trying. Trying creates a wishy-washy faith that lacks power.

So what are you “trying” to do?

Make a binary decision today, either do it or stop doing it. In everything you put your hands to, take this same attitude of being fully committed, not one foot in and one foot out.

In the book of James, the bible tells us that a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways and he can’t expect to receive anything from God. So when you are trying, you are missing out on the full power and anointing of God.

Let’s not try anymore, let’s do.
