A commandment is defined as a rule to be observed strictly. The old covenant is full of commandments, whereas commandments are minimal in the new covenant. So when Jesus says He has a commandment for us, we need to pay attention. Therefore, in today’s Daily Word, we are examining what Jesus calls the “new” commandment He has given us.
Matthew 22:35-40 KJV
[35] Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
[36] Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
[37] Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
