Message summary & scripture references

Currently, the body of Christ is learning about Grace and how God accepts us just as we are. This means that “getting our lives right” is not a prerequisite for salvation or receiving God’s love. However, if we desire to lead and succeed in our calling, then our lifestyle has to line up with how God designed us to live (aka living holy).

In fact, living at a certain level of holiness is a prerequisite for leadership in the Kingdom of God. As leaders, we are held to a higher standard. Listen to today’s message to explore this idea.

Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV

[8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
[9] Not of works, lest any man should boast.

1 Timothy 3:2-7 KJV

[2] A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
[3] Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
[4] One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
[5] (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
[6] Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.
[7] Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

1 Timothy 3:8-10,12 KJV

[8] Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;
[9] Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.
[10] And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.
[12] Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

1 Timothy 3:11 AMPC

[11] [The] women likewise must be worthy of respect and serious, not gossipers, but temperate and self-controlled, [thoroughly] trustworthy in all things.

James 3:1 KJV

[1] My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.

Luke 22:31-32 KJV

[31] And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
[32] But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
