Message summary & scripture references

In this weekend’s family message, we are continuing to study about the full of armor of God. The third piece of armor your family will learn about is the gospel shoes of peace. They will discover that the gospel of peace has removed the wall of sin that separated us from God and allows us to stand firm against the attacks of Satan. (originally broadcasted on June 9, 2018)

Below are our scriptures for this lesson. Throughout the week, go over these scriptures with your family.

Ephesians 6:10-18 NIV

[10] Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
[11] Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
[12] For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
[13] Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
[14] Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
[15] and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
[16] In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
[17] Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
[18] And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

Ephesians 2:14 KJV

[14] For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

To help reinforce today’s lesson, here are 7 review questions to ask your children.

  1. Are our enemies spiritual or natural?
  2. What is the source of our protection against our enemies?
  3. The shoes of God’s armor help us do what?
  4. What kind of wall separated us from God?
  5. What is the gospel of peace?
  6. Do you have to be perfect to come to God?
  7. Is God holding any good thing back from you?

We pray that this week’s family message was a blessing to your family.
