Criticizing another Christian can derail your success

Message summary & scripture references

It is very tempting to criticize another Christian when we see them doing something that goes against our understanding of scripture. For example, you see a pastor asking her followers to sow into her ministry, so she can purchase a private jet. Perhaps you see a Christian music artist starting to sing secular music. Maybe a Christian entrepreneur is operating his business differently than you would expect of a Christian. And the list can go on and on. Here’s the problem: when you criticize another Christian as they are operating in their calling, you’re not really criticizing them, you’re criticizing God. This puts your own calling in jeopardy and limits your own success. Listen to today’s message and learn more about this concept.

1 Corinthians 13:12 KJV

[12] For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

Exodus 16:2-3,7-8 KJV

[2] And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness:
[3] And the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.
[7] And in the morning, then ye shall see the glory of the Lord ; for that he heareth your murmurings against the Lord : and what are we, that ye murmur against us?
[8] And Moses said, This shall be , when the Lord shall give you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that the Lord heareth your murmurings which ye murmur against him: and what are we? your murmurings are not against us, but against the Lord.

Acts 9:4-5 KJV

[4] And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
[5] And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

1 Thessalonians 4:8 KJV

[8] He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.

Luke 10:16 KJV

[16] He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.

1 Samuel 2:30 KJV

[30] Wherefore the Lord God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the Lord saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

Galatians 6:1 KJV

[1] Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

Acts 5:38-39 KJV

[38] And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:
[39] But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.
