Message summary & scripture references

In this weekend’s family message, we are exploring the sacrifice of Jesus from the cross to resurrection. Your family will learn that Jesus loves us so much that he took the punishment for our sins so we can have victory. Below are our scriptures for this lesson. Throughout the week, go over these scriptures with your children. (originally broadcasted on March 31, 2018)

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. – Isaiah 53:3-5 KJV

Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre. And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus. And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? – Luke 24:1-5 KJV

To help reinforce today’s lesson, here are 10 review questions to ask your children.

  1. What are the two key objects Min. April wants us to remember?
  2. How did Jesus take our punishment?
  3. Because of the beatings Jesus took, our body is what?
  4. Jesus went through separation from whom?
  5. Where was Jesus for 3 days and 3 nights?
  6. Resurrection represents whose defeat?
  7. Could death stop Jesus?
  8. Are the bones of Jesus in a tomb?
  9. Is the Easter bunny a part of resurrection day?
  10. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives where now?

We pray that this weekend’s message is a blessing to you and your children. Below, please leave any questions, comments, or testimonies about the message.
