Message summary & scripture references

Our society is obsessed with credibility and credentials. If you are a chef, they want to know what culinary school you went to. If you’re a business coach, they want to know what successful business you have personally made a million dollars from. If you say you are starting a ministry, people want to know what theology school you got your ministry degree from. These questions are basically trying to judge or challenge your credibility. However, the only credibility you need is simply these two words: “God said.” Listen to today’s Daily Word and learn more about this concept.

Acts 13:2 KJV

[2] As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

Matthew 13:54-57 KJV

[54] And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?
[55] Is not this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?
[56] And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?
[57] And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.

Exodus 4:10-12 NLT

[10] But Moses pleaded with the LORD, “O Lord, I’m not very good with words. I never have been, and I’m not now, even though you have spoken to me. I get tongue-tied, and my words get tangled.”
[11] Then the LORD asked Moses, “Who makes a person’s mouth? Who decides whether people speak or do not speak, hear or do not hear, see or do not see? Is it not I, the LORD?
[12] Now go! I will be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say.”

Exodus 2:13-14 NLT

[13] The next day, when Moses went out to visit his people again, he saw two Hebrew men fighting. “Why are you beating up your friend?” Moses said to the one who had started the fight.
[14] The man replied, “Who appointed you to be our prince and judge? Are you going to kill me as you killed that Egyptian yesterday?” Then Moses was afraid, thinking, “Everyone knows what I did.”

1 Corinthians 1:27-29 KJV

[27] But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
[28] And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea , and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
[29] That no flesh should glory in his presence.

Galatians 2:7-8 NLT

[7] Instead, they saw that God had given me the responsibility of preaching the gospel to the Gentiles, just as he had given Peter the responsibility of preaching to the Jews.
[8] For the same God who worked through Peter as the apostle to the Jews also worked through me as the apostle to the Gentiles.

Matthew 4:18 KJV

[18] And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.

Acts 23:6 KJV

[6] But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question.

Jeremiah 1:4-8 NLT

[4] The LORD gave me this message:
[5] “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”
[6] “O Sovereign LORD,” I said, “I can’t speak for you! I’m too young!”
[7] The LORD replied, “Don’t say, ‘I’m too young,’ for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you.
[8] And don’t be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and will protect you. I, the LORD, have spoken!”
