Message summary & scripture references
Today’s culture is increasingly hostile toward believers in Christ. Because of this, people who are influenced by Satan are on a mission to harm you economically by asking you “gotcha” questions about your faith. For example, you might be asked about homosexuality, transgenderism, abortion, etc.
If your answer goes against the culture’s viewpoint then they will attempt to ostracize you, get you fired, or have other businesses stop doing business with your business. Learn how to handle these gotcha questions in today’s word training.
John 15:18-21 KJV
[18] If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
[19] If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
[20] Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
[21] But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me.
Matthew 22:15 NLT
[15 Then the Pharisees met together to plot how to trap Jesus into saying something for which he could be arrested.
Titus 3:9 KJV
[9] But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.
Matthew 7:6 KJV
[6] Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
Luke 20:1-8 KJV
[1] And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon him with the elders,
[2] And spake unto him, saying, Tell us, by what authority doest thou these things? or who is he that gave thee this authority?
[3] And he answered and said unto them, I will also ask you one thing; and answer me:
[4] The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men?
[5] And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then believed ye him not?
[6] But and if we say, Of men; all the people will stone us: for they be persuaded that John was a prophet.
[7] And they answered, that they could not tell whence it was.
[8] And Jesus said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.
Matthew 22:17-22 NLT
[17] Now tell us what you think about this: Is it right to pay taxes to Caesar or not?”
[18] But Jesus knew their evil motives. “You hypocrites!” he said. “Why are you trying to trap me?
[19] Here, show me the coin used for the tax.” When they handed him a Roman coin,
[20] he asked, “Whose picture and title are stamped on it?”
[21] “Caesar’s,” they replied. “Well, then,” he said, “give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and give to God what belongs to God.”
[22] His reply amazed them, and they went away.
John 8:4-6 KJV
[4] They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
[5] Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?
[6] This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
Matthew 10:32-33 ESV
[32] So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven,
[33] but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.
