Faith chat summary and scripture references
The calling that God has given you requires you to spend time perfecting it. Most days, you will end up spending more time on your calling verses the time spent studying the word. Because of this imbalance, it is tempting to feel bad or condemn yourself.
However, you don’t need to feel bad about this. We should and need to read and meditate on the Word of God daily, but we need to do it alongside our time spent becoming great at our God-given calling. Listen to today’s Faith Chat to explore this idea.
Matthew 3:17 NASB
[17] and behold, a voice out of the heavens said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased.”

[55] Is not this the carpenter’s son? Is not His mother called Mary, and His brothers, James and Joseph and Simon and Judas?
Joshua 1:8 NASB
[8] This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.
Exodus 31:1-6 NASB
[1] Now the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
[2] “See, I have called by name Bezalel, the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah.
[3] I have filled him with the Spirit of God in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all kinds of craftsmanship,
[4] to make artistic designs for work in gold, in silver, and in bronze,
[5] and in the cutting of stones for settings, and in the carving of wood, that he may work in all kinds of craftsmanship.
[6] And behold, I Myself have appointed with him Oholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan; and in the hearts of all who are [g] skillful I have put skill, that they may make all that I have commanded you:
Matthew 25:19-28 NASB
[19] “Now after a long time the master of those slaves *came and *settled accounts with them.
[20] The one who had received the five talents came up and brought five more talents, saying, ‘Master, you entrusted five talents to me. See, I have gained five more talents.’
[21] His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.’
[22] “Also the one who had received the two talents came up and said, ‘Master, you entrusted two talents to me. See, I have gained two more talents.’
[23] His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.’
[24] “And the one also who had received the one talent came up and said, ‘Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow and gathering where you scattered no seed.
[25] And I was afraid, and went away and hid your talent in the ground. See, you have what is yours.’
[26] “But his master answered and said to him, ‘You wicked, lazy slave, you knew that I reap where I did not sow and gather where I scattered no seed.
[27] Then you ought to have put my money in the bank, and on my arrival I would have received my money back with interest.
[28] Therefore take away the talent from him, and give it to the one who has the ten talents.’
Revelation 12:10 KJV
[10] And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
