Message summary & scripture references

Once again, the USA finds itself in the midst of racial tensions due to the death of an unarmed black American at the hands of a white police officer. There are many voices demanding justice and desiring everyone to speak up and do something. However, what should be done? After meditating on this question, Holy Spirit whispered to me, “Play your position.” Listen to today’s Daily Word to explore this Word from God. This message is American-centric but applies globally to other countries that are also dealing with injustices.

John 14:6 NIV

[6] Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

1 Corinthians 12:27 NKJV

[27] Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.

Romans 12:3-9 KJV

[3] For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
[4] For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:
[5] So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
[6] Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
[7] Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;
[8] Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
[9] Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

1 Corinthians 12:20-22 NLT

[20] Yes, there are many parts, but only one body.
[21] The eye can never say to the hand, “I don’t need you.” The head can’t say to the feet, “I don’t need you.”
[22] In fact, some parts of the body that seem weakest and least important are actually the most necessary.

Mark 5:18-20 NLT

[18] As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon possessed begged to go with him.
[19] But Jesus said, “No, go home to your family, and tell them everything the Lord has done for you and how merciful he has been.”
[20] So the man started off to visit the Ten Towns of that region and began to proclaim the great things Jesus had done for him; and everyone was amazed at what he told them.

Mark 1:41-45 NLT

[41] Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!”
[42] Instantly the leprosy disappeared, and the man was healed.
[43] Then Jesus sent him on his way with a stern warning:
[44] “Don’t tell anyone about this. Instead, go to the priest and let him examine you. Take along the offering required in the law of Moses for those who have been healed of leprosy. This will be a public testimony that you have been cleansed.”
[45] But the man went and spread the word, proclaiming to everyone what had happened. As a result, large crowds soon surrounded Jesus, and he couldn’t publicly enter a town anywhere. He had to stay out in the secluded places, but people from everywhere kept coming to him.
