Message summary & scripture references

Watching a person be murdered on social media is a traumatic experience for all who watched — regardless of race. However, it causes extra trauma for those of the same ethnicity as the person being murdered because they have seen this evil behavior many times before and have watched the perpetrator of the injustice go unpunished. Listen to today’s Daily Word to learn how I process injustice through the Word of God, so it doesn’t overly traumatize me, paralyze me from implementing my calling, or cause me to act in ways I will regret later. We all process pain differently, but do allow what you hear in this message to help you develop a biblical framework to process injustice.

Matthew 14:10-13 KJV

[10] And he sent, and beheaded John in the prison.
[11] And his head was brought in a charger, and given to the damsel: and she brought it to her mother.
[12] And his disciples came, and took up the body, and buried it, and went and told Jesus.
[13] When Jesus heard of it, he departed thence by ship into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foot out of the cities.

Matthew 24:4-8 KJV

[4] And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
[5] For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
[6] And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
[7] For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
[8] All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Ephesians 6:12 KJV

[12] For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

1 Samuel 30:1-4,8 NLT

[1] Three days later, when David and his men arrived home at their town of Ziklag, they found that the Amalekites had made a raid into the Negev and Ziklag; they had crushed Ziklag and burned it to the ground.
[2] They had carried off the women and children and everyone else but without killing anyone.
[3] When David and his men saw the ruins and realized what had happened to their families,
[4] they wept until they could weep no more.
[8] Then David asked the LORD, “Should I chase after this band of raiders? Will I catch them?” And the LORD told him, “Yes, go after them. You will surely recover everything that was taken from you!”

2 Chronicles 20:2-3,17 KJV

[2] Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazon-tamar, which is En-gedi.
[3] And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.
[17] Ye shall not need to fight in this battle : set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the Lord will be with you.

John 10:10 KJV

[10] The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
