Lesson summary & scripture references

We are continuing our series on faith. In today’s lesson, your family will learn how to speak faith-filled words in order to receive the promises of God. Below are our scriptures for this lesson. Throughout the week, go over these scriptures with your family.

Romans 4: 13,16-17 NIV

[13] It was not through the law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith.
[16] Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring—not only to those who are of the law but also to those who have the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all.
[17] As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.”[a] He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not.

To help reinforce today’s lesson, here are 7 review questions to ask your family.

  1. What opens up for us when we receive Jesus?
  2. What promise did God make to Abram?
  3. How old was Abram when he received the promise?
  4. What new name did God give Abram?
  5. What does Abram’s new name mean?
  6. What is the first thing we need in order to speak faith?
  7. What should you speak every day?

We pray that this week’s message is a blessing to you and your family.
