Lesson summary & scripture references

In today’s lesson, we are concluding our study about the full of armor of God. The seventh and final piece of armor your family will learn about is “Praying the word of God.” They will discover that speaking the word of God in prayer gives us access to all of God’s promises. Below are our scriptures for this lesson. Throughout the week, go over these scriptures with your family.

Ephesians 6:10-18 NIV

[10] Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
[11] Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
[12] For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
[13] Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
[14] Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
[15] and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
[16] In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
[17] Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
[18] And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

1 John 5:14-15 KJV

[14] And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
[15] And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

To help reinforce today’s lesson, here are 7 review questions to ask your children.

  1. What did God use to create the heaven and earth?
  2. Is our fight against people?
  3. Who is our fight against?
  4. How do we know that God is going to answer our prayers?
  5. Where can we find God’s menu of promises?
  6. What is the final piece of the armor of God?
  7. What are the seven pieces of the armor of God?

We pray that this week’s message is a blessing to you and your family.
