Let me tell you a story, in Exodus 16:4 God said to Moses,
I’m going to rain bread down from the skies for you. The people will go out and gather each day’s ration. I’m going to test them to see if they’ll live according to my Teaching or not. On the sixth day, when they prepare what they have gathered, it will turn out to be twice as much as their daily ration.
While Israel was in the wilderness on the way to their promised land, God gave them only enough provision for one day at a time. They were not allowed to save anything, so they had to trust that God would be there again tomorrow.
Hard Advice Coming
I am going to give you some advice that’s a true faith walk that your financial planner is not going to like.
When you are in the process of building your business forget about building up your savings account. You need all available cash to live day-by-day and to build your business. So don’t add the stress of trying to save.
If God called you to this business, then you may have to drain all your accounts down to zero to make this happen. Most Christian Entrepreneurs that I know had to give it all, in order to reap the harvest of a successful business. They had to trust God day-by-day to just eat sometimes, but they knew that this was what God called them to do.
A Word of Caution
Now if you are married, you must make sure your spouse is on board with this because this is where the rubber meets the road.
Of course, you don’t do this forever, at some point you will start building up your savings and retirement plan. The Israelites didn’t stay in the wilderness forever. But while they were on their way to success they had to take extreme measures.
However, before you receive this advice pray to make sure the Holy Spirit is directing you this way. But I know a lot of us had to go this way.
