Lesson summary & scripture references

In this lesson, we are continuing to study about the full of armor of God. The fifth piece of armor your family will learn about is the Helmet of Salvation. They will discover that the Helmet of Salvation covers their mind with the word of God. Below are our scriptures for this lesson. Throughout the week, go over these scriptures with your family.

Ephesians 6:10-18 NIV

[10] Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
[11] Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
[12] For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
[13] Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
[14] Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
[15] and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
[16] In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
[17] Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
[18] And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

Joshua 1:5-8 KJV

[5] There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
[6] Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.
[7] Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest.
[8] This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Proverbs 23:7 KJV

[7] For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

To help reinforce today’s lesson, here are 7 review questions to ask your children.

  1. Should you blend in with the world’s culture?
  2. A Roman soldier’s helmet serviced what two purposes?
  3. Can Satan’s arrows penetrate you?
  4. Our mind should be saturated with what?
  5. Could you do something you thought you couldn’t do?
  6. Satan will send what to your thoughts?
  7. Did God tell Joshua to be strong or weak?

We pray that this week’s message is a blessing to you and your family.
