Message summary & scripture references

God usually doesn’t give us instructions in an audible voice. The Bible teaches us that God speaks to us through an unction from the Holy Spirit. For lack of a better phrase, we will have a feeling from God that leads us to do a particular thing. This means we have to interpret that feeling to find the correct course of action God desires for us take. Therefore, we have to be very careful not to allow our traditions (i.e., the way we have always seen things done) misinterpret an unction from God.

Mark 7:8-9, 13 KJV

[8] For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
[9] And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
[13] Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

1 John 2:20 KJV

[20] But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.
