Message summary & scripture references

God chooses people to do things who seem like the wrong choice to normal eyes. For example, He calls high school dropouts to start colleges, medical doctors to open art galleries, and so on. God specializes in using people who are seemingly the wrong person to do amazing things. If God called you to do it, then you are the perfect person to do it. Listen to today’s Daily Word to learn more about this idea.

1 Corinthians 1:26-29 NIV

[26] Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth.
[27] But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
[28] God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are,
[29] so that no one may boast before him.

Exodus 3:9-10 ERV

[9] I have heard the cries of the Israelites, and I have seen the way the Egyptians have made life hard for them.
[10] So now I am sending you to Pharaoh. Go! Lead my people, the Israelites, out of Egypt.”

Exodus 4:10 ERV

[10] Then Moses said to the LORD, “But, Lord, I am telling you, I am not a good speaker. I have never been able to speak well. And that hasn’t changed since you started talking to me. I am still not a good speaker. You know that I speak slowly and don’t use the best words.”

1 Samuel 9:17,21 ERV

[17] When Samuel saw Saul, the LORD said to Samuel, “This is the man I told you about. He will rule my people.”
[21] Saul answered, “But I am a member of the tribe of Benjamin. It is the smallest tribe in Israel. And my family is the smallest in the tribe of Benjamin. Why do you say Israel wants me?”

Matthew 13:54-56 KJV

[54] And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?
[55] Is not this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?
[56] And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?

John 1:45-46 KJV

[45] Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.
[46] And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.
