Message summary & scripture references

Business partnerships are powerful, and can yield better results than going it alone. But should a believer partner in business with a non-believer? In today’s message, we explore the scriptures to find an answer.

2 Corinthians 6:14-15 NASB

[14] Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness?
[15] Or what harmony has Christ with Belial, or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever?

Amos 3:3 KJV

[3] Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

Exodus 23:32-33 NASB

[32] You shall make no covenant with them or with their gods.
[33] They shall not live in your land, because they will make you sin against Me; for if you serve their gods, it will surely be a snare to you.”

Psalm 1:1 NASB

[1] How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!

1 Corinthians 7:12-15 KJV

[12] But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away.
[13] And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.
[14] For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.
[15] But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.

2 Chronicles 25:5-9 NLT

[5] Then Amaziah organized the army, assigning generals and captains for all Judah and Benjamin. He took a census and found that he had an army of 300,000 select troops, twenty years old and older, all trained in the use of spear and shield.
[6] He also paid about 7,500 pounds of silver to hire 100,000 experienced fighting men from Israel.
[7] But a man of God came to him and said, “Your Majesty, do not hire troops from Israel, for the LORD is not with Israel. He will not help those people of Ephraim!
[8] If you let them go with your troops into battle, you will be defeated by the enemy no matter how well you fight. God will overthrow you, for he has the power to help you or to trip you up.”
[9] Amaziah asked the man of God, “But what about all that silver I paid to hire the army of Israel?” The man of God replied, “The LORD is able to give you much more than this!”

Joshua 7:10-13 NASB

[10] So the LORD said to Joshua, “Rise up! Why is it that you have fallen on your face?
[11] Israel has sinned, and they have also transgressed My covenant which I commanded them. And they have even taken some of the things under the ban and have both stolen and deceived. Moreover, they have also put them among their own things.
[12] Therefore the sons of Israel cannot stand before their enemies; they turn their backs before their enemies, for they have become accursed. I will not be with you anymore unless you destroy the things under the ban from your midst.
[13] Rise up! Consecrate the people and say, ‘Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow, for thus the LORD, the God of Israel, has said, “There are things under the ban in your midst, O Israel. You cannot stand before your enemies until you have removed the things under the ban from your midst.”
