Message summary & scripture references
In this weekend’s family message, we are continuing to study about the full of armor of God. The 2nd piece of armor your family will learn about is the breastplate of righteousness. They will discover that the breastplate of righteousness protects us from the attacks of Satan. (originally broadcasted on June 2, 2018)
Below are our scriptures for this lesson. Throughout the week, go over these scriptures with your children.
Ephesians 6:10-18 NIV
[10] Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
[11] Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
[12] For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
[13] Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
[14] Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
[15] and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
[16] In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
[17] Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
[18] And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
Psalm 34:15-21 KJV
[15] The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.
[16] The face of the Lord is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
[17] The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
[18] The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
[19] Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.
[20] He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.
[21] Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.
To help reinforce today’s lesson, here are 10 review questions to ask your children.

- Why does God want us to put on his armor?
- Can Satan’s attacks penetrate the armor of God?
- What does the breastplate protect?
- What is righteousness?
- When did God wash our sins away?
- What kind of hate mail does Satan send to us?
- What stops the hate mail of Satan?
- Should we fear the attacks of Satan?

We pray that this week’s message is a blessing to your family.
