We are picking up where we left off last week, looking at what happened in the upper room. In today’s lesson, your children will learn the details of how the Holy Spirit came to the earth upon the first disciples in the upper room.

We had a technical glitch this week. The audio and video is not perfectly synced.

Below are our scriptures for this lesson. Throughout the week, go over these scriptures with your children.

Acts 1:12-15 KJV

[12] Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day’s journey.
[13] And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.
[14] These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
[15] And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)

Acts 2:1-4 KJV

[1] And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
[2] And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
[3] And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
[4] And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

To help reinforce today’s lesson, here are 7 review questions to ask your children.

  1. Was Jesus‘ mom with his disciples in the upper room?
  2. How many people were waiting for the Holy Spirit in the upper room?
  3. What where the disciples doing in the upper room while they were waiting?
  4. When the Holy Spirit came, what did it sound like?
  5. The Holy Spirit sat on the disciples like what?
  6. When the Holy Spirit came, the disciples began to speak with what?
  7. God poured out what on all flesh?

We pray that this week’s message is a blessing to you and your children.
